Visa Application

Visa Application
 It is best to apply for a visa no later than 1-2 weeks after entering Malta. Of course, you can apply before 90 days after entering the country, but if the application time is late, it will be delayed, which can be a problem if you plan to travel outside of Malta. In addition, it may be useful to note that the issuance time may be a little longer in the summer season.

Documents Required for Temporary Residence Visa for Students

Please check in advance as there may be changes to the requirements.

* Letter of Acceptance
* Two Identical Color passport photos-within last 6 months
* Proof of Accommodation
* Passport and Passport Document
* Proof of Travel Insurance-recommended for more than 30,000 euros
* Proof of Financial Means-This is usually possible if you are a proof of bank balance (detailed below).
* A copy of the card that allows cash withdrawals in Malta and a withdrawal receipt (without a fixed amount)
* Visa Application Form
* A Self Addressed Special Delivery Envelope
* Malta ID Card Application Form
* Application fee (Pay to immigration office upon receipt)

All prepared visa documents can be submitted to the Malta immigration office. Perhaps some of the readers of this article may feel a bit uncomfortable with this submission. Malta is a small island country and the administration is not too complicated, so don't worry. And the important thing is that most schools don't have to worry too much about this.

Visa Issuance Period

When you apply for a visa, you will receive a blue temporary residence certificate, often called a blue paper. This is a proof that the student is currently applying for a visa extension, so please bring this form with you until your final permit is issued. About six to eight weeks after receiving this blue paper, you will receive a letter asking you to pick up your ID-Card at the address on the application.
